How we Knew

How did we know that we want to spend the rest of our lives together? Here's what Ginger has to say (and Neil agrees!):

It all had to do with God’s timing. Neil and I had both prayed hard about finding the right person to marry. On the trip to San Antonio we ended up wanting to do the same things, not because we specifically wanted to be with each other, we just found that we enjoyed the same activities. This has continued as our relationship has grown. While we like doing many of the same things, sometimes one of us has to stretch a little and try something new the other hadn’t tried before. Like, I rollerblade now, (when it’s warm anyway).

As life went on, we realized we really liked being with each other more and more. Eventually love entered the picture, and we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other. We could tell God was working everything out for us, from the way we felt about each other to the way each of us saw the world in similar ways. Neil and I have the same stance on many of the important issues. We could live without each other, but we don’t want to. We are both grateful for the saving grace of Jesus Christ and want to keep pursuing a personal relationship with Him. We think similarly about money and finances, we have the same friends, we agree about not having children, we like travel and adventure, we absolutely love dogs and really don’t like cats. The list could go on.

So how did we know? Because God really worked it all out so perfectly. While we always have to work on our relationship, Neil and I don’t think there will be anything we cannot get through because of our commitment to Christ and to each other. As Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken”.
